It's Time to Go...Beyond the Frame

Updated: Apr 23, 2021

If you are a friend, acquaintance or client of mine, you know that for the past four years I have been known as Your Travel Mom. At the time I started my business, I was heavy into the "mom" organizing activities you do when you have a kid (PTO, Scouts, friend get-togethers, etc.) I also am detail-oriented at heart, so taking care of my clients and arranging their travels like their mom would do was very natural to me.

But that was not what is at the heart of why I became a travel advisor. Simply put, I love to learn, and travel brings history, geography and to some extent, anthropology to life. As serendipity would have it, travel also brings me pure joy! Combine that with my travel design and planning "mom" tendencies and it is a pretty perfect fit :).

So why "Beyond the Frame" Travels? It stems from an experience I had while attending the London wedding of friends. The wedding took place at a resort outside of London. The couple had reserved a bedroom that had a large "living room" attached, which is where the bridal party and friends relaxed prior to the ceremony. Fast forward two years and to the movie "Bridget Jones' Diary." Some of the scenes in the movie were set at that same resort. As I was watching, I realized that it was the exact same room! I knew what was on the other side of the door, what the view was outside of the window, and what was right around the corner. What was beyond the frame of the picture, if you will.

That is what travel brings to me - the ability to recognize a place and connect with it on a deeper level because you know the context that surrounds it, physically, historically, and culturally.

And, of course, fun! My goal is to help you experience the insight, power and joy that travel can bring to life, and to do so through travel design, planning, and unique experiences. I hope you will join me on this journey.
